Frequently Asked Questions
I understand that seeking counselling can bring up a lot of questions, and it’s important to feel comfortable with the process. Below are answers to some common questions, but please feel free to contact me if you have any other queries or concerns. I'm here to help!

How can counselling help me?
Counselling provides a supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe, non-judgemental environment. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, stress, or other life challenges, counselling can help you gain clarity, develop coping strategies, and work through difficult emotions. My aim is to support you at your own pace, empowering you to find the strength and resources within yourself to move forward.

What happens in a session?
In our sessions, we will work together to understand what brings you to counselling and what you hope to achieve. I will listen to your concerns and offer support in a compassionate and respectful manner. You can talk openly about what’s on your mind, and I will guide you through the process, helping you gain insight and explore new ways of thinking and being. The sessions are all about you—your needs, your pace, and your goals.

How long will each session be?
Each session typically lasts 50 minutes. This provides enough time to explore what's on your mind in a thoughtful and meaningful way. We will review your progress and discuss any areas of concern during the session, ensuring we continue to move forward in a way that feels right for you.

How many sessions will I need?
The number of sessions you may need depends entirely on your individual needs and goals. Some people find that just a few sessions are helpful, while others may choose longer-term counselling for ongoing support. At any point, we can review your progress and decide together how best to continue.

How do I know if counselling is right for me?
Choosing to explore counselling can feel daunting, and it’s an important step towards understanding and improving your well-being. To help you decide if it’s the right step, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. This gives us the chance to talk about what you're experiencing, and for me to explain how I work. It’s an opportunity for you to get a feel for my approach and decide if counselling feels like a supportive next step for you.
Get in touch today to book your free call and take the first step towards finding the support that’s right for you.

What if I can’t make it to a session in person?
I offer online counselling via Zoom, providing the flexibility to connect from a place where you feel most comfortable and private. This can be especially helpful if you find it difficult to travel or prefer the convenience of receiving support from your own space. We’ll ensure your online sessions are just as secure and supportive as in-person sessions.

Is everything I say in counselling confidential?
Confidentiality is one of the cornerstones of the counselling process. Everything you share with me is kept private, unless there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. In such cases, I would work with you to ensure you get the support you need. Your trust is important to me, and I am committed to maintaining your privacy and confidentiality.

How do I know if you're the right counsellor for me?
Finding the right counsellor is an important decision, and it’s essential that you feel comfortable with the person you’re working with. If you're unsure, I encourage you to take advantage of the free 20-minute introductory call. This is an opportunity for us to have an informal conversation, where you can ask any questions and share what you're looking for in a counsellor. This way, you can get a sense of whether we’re a good fit for each other before committing to further sessions.

What are your fees?
My fee is £50 per session. I strive to provide value and support in each session, ensuring that you have the time and space to explore your thoughts and feelings.
I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Unfortunately, cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice, or no-shows, will be charged at the full session rate, as I reserve that time specifically for you.

If you have any concerns about the fees or need to discuss flexibility, please don't hesitate to get in touch. I’m happy to talk through any options with you.
Can’t find the answer you're looking for?
If you have any other questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. I’m here to support you, and I’d be happy to talk things through with you. You can contact me via email or telephone, and I’ll do my best to answer your questions and provide the information you need.
